3. Methodology
3.1 Participants
There participants contribute 35 male and 25 female of student from Faculty of Manufacturing Engineering and Project Management. Student that involves is taken from course of manufacturing engineering and mechatronic engineering.
Next, student from year two of manufacturing engineering course is only 30 participants which is 20 male and 10 female. Other than that, student from year one of manufacturing engineering course is only 5 male and 10 female in total 15 students is involves. Beside that, student from year one of mechatronic engineering course is 10 male and 5 female, in total also 15 of students.
We can conclude that, total of number distribution of questionnaire is based on ratio of actual number of student in Faculty of Manufacturing Engineering and Technology Management for manufacturing department which is 98 male and 89 female, questionnaire paper distribution is non-random.
3.2 Data collection instruments:
3.2.1 Survey Questionnaire
In section A, participants need to fill their personal information for demographic information which is contain age, gender, course, and year. In section B, there is contain 5 question of dichotomous question type, and feel free response. Question will ask about the target knowledge about the basic information of the case which is nuclear energy. In section C, there is contain 9 question that will ask about influence of nuclear energy to our country, Malaysia. Next, type of question for closed-ended question in this section include rank question, scale question, dichotomous question, and multiple choice questions. For open-ended questions there is only include fill-in relevant questions type. Lastly, total number question that will be ask in this questionnaire is 18 question.
3.3 Data analysis
3.3.1 Analyzing data from questionnaire
Statically analysis of questionnaire is done by using Excel spreadsheet. First, we will numbering each questionnaire for easy reference. Second, we will give variable number in each question, For all closed, open-ended, multiple choices (in which respondent can only choose one answer), fill-in relevant information and scale questions, each question will be considered as individual variables. Next, for ranking questions, each choices is a variable. However, each choices recorded as a separate variable because respondent can choose more than one choices and only in this way we can see the different frequency in each choices.
For the open minded questions, we needs to sift through all the questionnaire and record emerging themes. Lastly, we will count frequencies, and calculate data, so we can tabulate the data in Excel.
